The Saint Paul Camera Club is here for anyone interested in photography. We are open to everyone regardless of skill, experience, age, cultural background or any other characteristic of an individual in a free society. You don’t even have to be interested in photography, although that’s the point of our club.
Who Are We?
We are a “Salon Club.” Once a month, club members can submit images that are studied and scored by a trained photography judge. The judge presents the images at a club meeting, discusses their strengths, and makes suggestions for improvement. The highest-scoring images are award winners and are automatically entered into a year-end competition. Take a look at our home page to see a slide show of award winners from our last salon.
Besides the monthly salon, we also have a monthly program meeting. The program meetings bring in experts in many different areas of photography who share their tips, tricks, skills and knowledge with us.
Saint Paul Camera Club’s goal is to help everyone improve their photography. Entering images in salons provides expert feedback and advice on your images. It’s a great learning tool, plus you see a lot of great images. Going to program meetings teaches us about the wider world of photography. The club also includes a number of expert photographers who are always happy to share their knowledge.
Visitors are welcome at any SPCC meeting, please join us. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of most months. See our Meetings and Events page for dates, times and programs.
SPCC Board
We are an all-volunteer organization. Members are responsible for keeping SPCC operating and growing.

SPCC History
Joining SPCC makes you part of Saint Paul’s history!
SPCC is one of the oldest camera clubs in the country. Our story begins back in 1893, when photography was very different from today. (Some of the earliest members were using glass plates.) And, when the Photographic Society of America was founded in 1934, the Saint Paul Camera Club became a Charter Member.
Learn more about our history in these stories written during our 125th anniversary:
- Bob Muschewske wrote this article for the Ramsey County Historical Society (PDF) in celebration of our 125th anniversary.
- Gene and Pat Schwope wrote this article for PSA in 2018. It also outlines our club’s history and describes our 125th anniversary celebration (PDF).
